History
The National Cadet Corps, was started, as “University Corps” in 1917 and came into being, in its present form, on 16 July 1948 by an Act of the Parliament. To begin with, National Cadet Corps had a modest strength of 1.7 Lakh Boy Cadets. The Girl Cadets were added later, in 1949. Air Wing was added in 1950 and the Naval wing in 1952, thus making the National Cadet Corps a tri-services organization. The National Cadet Corps aims at, developing the character qualities in the youth, to make them good and responsible citizens of the society and worthy leaders of the future, in every walk of life
